Which LabVIEW ™ Driver should I download?

For the Model 2400 Series of SourceMeter® Instruments, two options for LabVIEW driver are provided:

Option #1: a VXIPnP driver. VXIPnP drivers comply with the VXIPnP alliance. VXIPnP drivers make use of VISA for communication with the instrument. The use of VISA allows the same driver to use either the GPIB or RS-232 interface of the instrument. A suitable passport is installed for use of GPIB cards (ISA, PCI or PCMCIA) from Keithley. National Instruments drivers for their GPIB cards will install a suitable passport for their cards to use VISA. See the example program section of the software downloads or the installed help files for more information on use of this driver. This VXIPnP driver is recommended for all new software development. (an IVI instrument class does not yet exist for a SourceMeter Instrument)

Option #2: a Legacy driver for GPIB interface only. These legacy drivers contain a collection of high level instrument commands (VIs). Each of these VIs relies upon the IEEE-488.2 Read or Write VIs to communicate with the instrument. The final release of this driver is posted to this web site. Keithley recommends this driver only for legacy software maintenance situations.
